Corrupted Colgate Toothpaste diffuses potential illness!
June 17, 2007
If you saw recently, China had exported toothpaste with diethylene glycol. Diethylene glycol is a chemical that can kill one if consumed but in the toothpaste, it was used in very minimum quantity. The Food and Drug Administration still declared it unethical and thus stopped the exports of these toothpastes that were carried out here. An incident that led to such a decision was in the Latin Americas where 40 people died and many were injured by the consummation of diethylene glycol in another product. China, in response to the U.S.’s decision, mocked and negatively commented.

So why am I mentioning this now?
Well, because now, the fake toothpaste labeled as Colgate has been distributed among 4 states in the United States and cease to exist in discount stores. To prevent buying this product, you can void by looking at the size. The fake toothpaste will be 5-ounce or 100 ml tube. Colgate claims that this size is not made or sold in the U.S.; thus, it is a counterfeit. The biggest clue is that it says “Manufactured in South Africa”. This is false and void it immediately. There a possibility some of the words on the tube are misspelled such as “isclinically” and “SOUTH AFRLCA” and “South African Dental Assoxiation”. South Africa does have many scams including the bank scam and the eBay scam. This is just another foolish attempt to make a profit for them; but do not fall for it because there is a low risk for death as the chemical happens to be poisonous.
