When you decide to make a credit card deal online or in a bank’s office, be careful. Do not hurry! Take your time and study thoroughly a credit card application. Thus, you will avoid misunderstanding and many financial mistakes.
Not only violated credit card rules, credit limit overdraft, and missing payments can damage your credit and cause you lots of problems. Often consumers are too self-confident and do not listen to lenders’ advice. But lenders never want to lose their money and your financial wellbeing is very important to them. Credit card companies and banks will hardly talk you into taking actions that can damage your credit.
So, if your lender asks you to consider the responsibility and possible consequences of being a co-signor, do it. If your close friend asks you to be his/her co-signor, do not hurry to give a positive answer. Consider all pros and cons. Co-sign only in case, you are sure that your friend will be able to pay off debt, and never become a co-signor for a person you do not know well. Mind, in case the creditor is not able to pay off debt, the co-signor is responsible for every penny. Lots of people get into debt in this way.
So, if you do not want to get into deep debt and to damage your credit history, listen to your lender.
