First day in college. What a transition.
August 28, 2007
Well, first day of class wasn’t so bad, with the fact that my first class on the first day was canceled. What an impression eh? Then, I noticed that I have a bit too much time on my hands, and didn’t really know what to do. Recently, I am looking forward to join some clubs, get in volunteering, which will help me integrate within the college community. However, when I went to my second class (Math), I was really surprised that we were actually doing work, instead of wasting the whole class interpreting the syllabus, or leaving a hour early, like I did in my Sociology class. Unique eh? That, really made me think, I am wasting time, if I just come to class.
So… some things to remember when moving from highschool to college:
- Get a part time job
- Join extracurricular activities. They will help you make more friends, and really enjoy college experience.
- Be ’sane’. Self control.
- Manage your time. Don’t let extra things distract your education goals,
- Oh remember, you can always sell your books back after your done using them for the semester.
- DONT FOOL AROUND IN CLASS. I was a class clown back in the days, and now I realize, cracking jokes in a class full of 200 people, is me making fun of myself.
- Sit in front of the class. You get, what you put into it.
