Microsoft vs. (Linux)Google
June 30, 2007
We saw recently that our former competent had a new rival in town, Google. The battle is vehement among the powers for the Search Giant now supports Microsoft’s old adversary, Linux. So now two enemies of Microsoft have synthesized into one super duper ruling power. This could prove to be a factor for the hostility Microsoft holds for Google and Linux even more.
What did Google do…AGAIN that can potentially agitate Microsoft???
So Google is backing up Linux by making a Google Desktop for it. The Microsoft version of Google Desktop came out 3 years ago and the Mac OS X version came out 2 months ago, Linux came out now. Though the Linux version, like the Mac OS X, is still a beta so many options are still to be modified and tweaked. Many options, compared to the Windows version, are still missing like the Google Gadgets and Google Sidebar but, its on its way.

Luckily, Google’s Beijing engineering team expanded internationally on this software and now runs in many languages encompassing English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, simplified and traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese. The following versions of Linux will be compatible with the Google Desktop:Debian 4.0, Fedora Core 6, Ubuntu 6.10, SUSE 10.1, and Red Flag 5.
